He's Got The Looks
He's probably every girl's dream man – straight out of a Mill's & Boon romance novel with looks that could kill. He's tall, dark and handsome. He's got a muscular, sporty build – after all, sports were his first love. In short, he's drop dead gorgeous. Now could that be the very, very mixed blood that flows through his veins? He's said to be part French Canadian, part Welsh, part Irish, part Lebanese and part Japanese. Now when you put the best of all that together and shake them up there's only one stunner that can emerge – Dean Cain.
Right through school and college Dean played some sport or the other. That's why he was offered so many sports scholarships. That's why he's got that athletic build that everyone turns around to get a second look at. Add a body like that to a head full of black hair, sparking eyes that can smolder with shades of all kinds of emotions and a smile that is heart-wrenching and you'll see why it all adds up to a pretty hot package.
And yet, he's not just a poster boy. That is where Dean Cain probably scores. He may be a six-foot hunk but he's also educated, he's articulate and he can portray emotions on the screen that go way beyond his good looks. So while his looks are an asset, he does not rely on them to be considered for a role. He has much more than that to offer.
The perfect example would be the Superman series role. He plays the good looking Man of Steel to perfection and he does the same with the quiet, rather timid Clark Kent. Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman was a hit simply because the characters delivered – not because of his looks.
However, in real life, the reason the tabloids and the press woo him and keep him constantly in their radar is probably because of what an impressive figure he cuts. They can count on a lot more readers when their subject is easy on the eye. Dean Cain and his women constantly make it to the celebrity gossip pages. But those who know the man will tell you that he is a lot more than male eye candy. Sure he's got the looks – but he's got the brains to match as well. Now that really is the best combination any man could wish for.
